Ontology Helps Craft IEEE Standards For Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, Broadening Industry Leadership Credentials

Ontology is proud to announce that our Senior Tech Lead, Ning Hu, recently played a leading role in the formulation of new IEEE Standards for Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. As a member of the IEEE Blockchain Standards Committee, Ning Hu held the position of Vice Chair of the Cryptocurrency Exchange Working Group and has been a prominent participant within the Cryptocurrency Payment Working Group.

As Vice Chair of the Cryptocurrency Exchange Working Group (IEEE 2140.5–2020), Ning Hu helped develop standards including general requirements for cryptocurrency exchanges; a standard for security management for customer cryptographic assets on cryptocurrency exchanges; a standard for user identification and anti-money laundering on cryptocurrency exchanges; and a standard for distributed/decentralized exchange framework using DLT.

As a participant in the Cryptocurrency Payment Working Group (IEEE 2143.1–2020), Ning Hu contributed to the formulation of a standard for cryptocurrency payment performance metrics and a standard for risk control requirements for cryptocurrency payment.

About Ning HU, Senior Tech Lead at Ontology

As one of the first Semantic Web experts in China, Ning HU has almost two decades of experience in software development and high-level technology. An early entrant into the world of emerging technology, Ning HU joined Project Halo, an initiative by Paul Allen, Co-founder of Microsoft in 2008, where his role focused on the development of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). HU also assisted in the establishment of leading fintech company Green Dot’s subsidiary in China, where he worked as a Development Manager. He has extensive experience in enterprise resource planning, digitization of government affairs, gaming platforms, and media streaming. Ning HU graduated from Southeast University with a degree in Computer Science.
