Ontology Monthly Report — July 2020
Ontology is happy to share our July monthly report, outlining our most exciting news and achievements over the past four weeks. July was a busy and rewarding month for the Ontology team, as we launched a new governance and staking economic model and a new node and staking yield calculator, making it easier than ever to stake ONT and earn ONG.

MainNet Optimization
- MainNet has been upgraded to Ontology v2.0.0
- Decentralized governance transition has been completed
- New token model was launched

- 50 BTC was collected for the first FBG financial product on ONTO within the span of two hours
- Our NFT campaigns celebrating the 2-year anniversary of Ontology’s MainNet & our July NFT campaign have been a resounding success, providing millions of NFTs for Ontology’s global users

- Explorer v2.3.2 launched

- 70 dApps launched in total on MainNet
- 5,969,455 dApp transactions completed in total on MainNet
- We welcomed 2,266 new members across Ontology’s Vietnamese, Cantonese, and Bengali communities
- We are seeking SDK developers from the community
- 508 applications, 6 new additions
- 38 tasks,
50 teams in total: 31 teams have finished their tasks and have received rewards in return, while 19 teams are still working on tasks
- Nearly $150 million USD worth of ONT is now staked on Ontology, making up almost one-third of the total circulating supply
- Over 1 million pieces of enterprise data from Kaiyun Delivery, a comprehensive logistics service provider focusing on urban transportation and terminal-end deliveries, has been recorded on the Ontology public chain, which will be useful for logistics and automobile-related enterprises to trace
- The Ontology 2.0 FAQ has been published, answering all of your questions about Ontology’s New Token Model, SAGA, Add-on Store, and Open Knowledge Graphs (OpenKG).
- We published a series of articles about our new governance and staking economic model, how to apply for a node, the revenue model for staking, and operating a node. In addition, a new Node and Staking Yield Calculator is now available through the Ontology website
- Users can now use ONTO to manage their Chiliz (CHZ) assets, which powers Socios, a leading sports fan engagement and rewards platform. Socios has cooperated with leading European football clubs such as FC Barcelona and Juventus.
- Ontology’s 2-year anniversary AMA was a great success. Jun LI, Founder of Ontology, stated that moving forward, Ontology’s focus will be concentrated on digital identity and data, as well as finding opportunities to boost B2B and B2C engagements.
- Ontology’s 2-year anniversary NFT airdrop campaign was also a massive success. More than 100 users received the Ontology 2.0 limited edition NFTs, which can be exchanged for 30 ONG each in ONTO.
- July was a busy month event-wise for Ontology and we had a number of team members attending different conferences. Jun LI was invited to the second Chain Plus Blockchain New Finance Summit 2020, where he delivered a speech on blockchain-based trust data and social environment, as well as introducing ONT ID, ONTO, and SAGA in detail.
- Ontology attended Binance’s 3-year anniversary virtual event “Off the Charts” as a diamond sponsor. Jun LI delivered a keynote speech at the event. Meanwhile, other members of the Ontology team also spoke on panels to introduce Ontology 2.0 and outline the changes to the oken model, as well as to discuss our future plans with Binance.
- Andy JI, Co-Founder of Ontology, was invited to the 2020 Global Blockchain Week in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China as a panelist where he shared his thoughts on Web 3.0.
- Ning HU, Senior Architecture Expert at Ontology, was invited to an online AMA by Huoxing Finance, where he discussed the potential new opportunities decentralized oracles present. Ning was also invited to the “Connected Smart Contracts” online AMA by Chainlink, discussing Ontology 2.0 and oracle integration with Philip FEI, China Head of Chainlink.
- The Ontology x Phemex online AMA was a great success. Jack Tao, CEO of Phemex, was on hand to answer the Ontology community’s questions and provided them with an exciting opportunity to avail of a year-round free membership of Phemex.
