Ontology Monthly Report — June 2020
June has been a very exciting month for the Ontology team, as we hit the halfway mark on what has been a successful 2020 so far. We are proud to report on the significant progress we have made on a number of key fronts.
Highlights from this month include the launch of ONTO v3.0.0 and ONT ID 2.0, as well as a successful integration with Rosetta, a Coinbase-led project, and Chainlink. You can find more detailed updates below.

Community Growth
- Telegram: We welcomed 1,511 new members across Ontology’s Bengali, Vietnamese, Hindi, Philippine, Spanish and Sinhala communities
- New Ontology communities were also established in Portugal, France, Sweden, South Africa and Cameroon
Bounty Program
- Seeking Python SDK developers from the community
- 502 applications, 5 new additions
- 38 tasks, 50 teams, with 19 teams working on tasks
- 31 teams have finished their tasks and have received rewards in return
Newly Released
- We have seen significant growth in Ontology’s ecosystem investments: DAD (+183%), MovieBloc (+69%), VID (+1163%), and bloXroute (STO complete). We expect Ontology’s ecosystem to continue to experience exponential growth in the global market in 2020.
- Details of ONT 2.0 have been revealed: Layer 2 enabled, accessible, and business ready.
- New version of ONT ID 2.0 has been released: New features include a unified account system and single sign-on services to manage and verify credentials, such as academic credits and graduation certificates, across multiple platforms.
- Ontology announced native integration with Chainlink, opening up bespoke use cases pertaining to data management. The move brings Chainlink oracle support to Ontology, increasing scalability, decentralization, and collaboration.
- Ontology announced an integration with Rosetta, a Coinbase-led open-source project. Ontology’s knowledge, unique engineering experience, and technical expertise will be leveraged to help make protocol integration processes easier.
- We also announced a new collaboration with Kaiyun Delivery, a comprehensive logistics service provider focusing on urban transportation and terminal-end deliveries.
- Finally, we initiated new exciting new partnerships with leaders in the blockchain gaming industry, My Crypto Heroes and Brave Frontier Heroes.
Event
- As we get ready to mark two years since the launch of Ontology’s MainNet, we will host a special two year anniversary AMA, where Jun LI, Founder of Ontology, will answer questions from the Ontology Global Community on Ontology 2.0 and our future plans. Meanwhile, we are excited to announce our plan to team up with Binance to bring the community some fantastic rewards.
- Li Jun, Founder of Ontology, spoke at Mainnet 2020 hosted by Messari, where he discussed future plans and development processes for Ontology 2.0. He was also invited to speak on the Block 101×TokenClub Live Series 26 Broadcast.
- ONT has been listed on two leading European crypto exchanges, Bitpanda and eToroX, extending the reach of ONT to new users across Europe, and providing users with more choice.
- The Ontology Telegram group had a great discussion surrounding the Everything About Futures AMA. Andy JI, Co-Founder of Ontology, and Justin Cheng, Director of Binance Derivatives, answered questions in order to help users to better understand functionalities such as the purchasing and redeeming of assets. Additionally, Andy JI explained Ontology’s long-standing relationship with Binance and how the platforms have been working together to further expand the global blockchain ecosystem.
