Developments/Corporate Updates

Development Progress

  • We are 100% done with the Rollup VM design. The White Paper will be published soon.
  • We are 99% done with the Rollup RISCV EVM actuator.
  • We are 87% done with the Rollup L1<->L2 cross-layer communication.
  • We are 89% done with the Rollup L1<->L2 Token Bridge.
  • We are 99% done with the L1 data synchronization server.
  • We are 94% done with the L2 Rollup Node.
  • We are 60% done with the L2 blockchain browser.

Product Development

  • ONTO App v4.3.6 brought support for the Aptos Blockchain, Aurora Chain and BitTorrent Chain, upgraded WalletConnect features, brought support for filtering dApps by chain type in the Discover section, added swapping tokens on Optimism and Arbitrum, and improved UI for the search feature.
  • ONTO has published its August monthly report, summarizing a series of functional optimizations, various exciting activities and cooperations, as well as the progress of its global ecosystem growth.
  • ONTO hosted various online activities such as the free giveaway campaign with XDC Network, Element and Apeiro. Participating in ONTO events will earn rewards. Follow the @ONTO Wallet Official Announcement in Telegram for more details!

On-Chain Activity

  • As of September 23, 2022, there have been 155 dApps launched in total on MainNet.
  • There have been a total of 7,165,942 dApp-related transactions completed on MainNet, an increase of 23,150 dApp-related transactions compared to the past month.
  • There have been a total of 17,960,659 transactions completed on MainNet, an increase of 70,377 transactions compared to the past month.

Community Growth & Bounties

  • This month, several Ontology Community Calls and discussions were held on Discord and Telegram, focusing on topics such as “collision between DID and NFT”, “Web2 & Web3”, and “Ethereum Merge”. Community members discussed “What impact will the Ethereum Merge bring to the Web3 landscape”, and “How Ontology should deal with this impact”, they also talked about the future development of Ontology.
  • Ontology held the second Twitter Spaces of OWNInsights, inviting Ben Yorke and 0xYond from WOO Network and SnapFingers DAO, discussing “The disconnect between DAOs and their developers”, “DAOs in the real world”, “Obstacles for DAOs”, and “What are the next big changes that bring adoption?”.

Out & About — Event Spotlight

It was all hands on deck this month with a string of news reports and developments:

  • Li Jun, Founder of Ontology, was invited to be a guest at the YouTube Watch Party All Day Livestream, by the well-known blockchain media outlet Crypto Slate. He shared his thoughts on “Why Ethereum converted to PoS”, “Network security after Merge” and “What is the impact to Web3?”.
  • Ontology cooperated with OKLink Audit, which aims to improve users’ experience in the blockchain world, and to work together to create a safe and harmonious Web3 environment.
  • Ontology cooperated with Coinhub Wallet, a famous multi-chain wallet, and held an AMA. Global users asked questions about the latest features and security of Coinhub Wallet, and won generous rewards while learning about the application.
  • MetaPath now supports Ontology EVM assets. Global users can securely swap WONT and WONG in MetaPath with faster exchange and lower rates.
  • Ontology’s Business Development Manager Li Ge was invited to participate in the “Fenbushi Talk” hosted by Fenbushi Capital, discussing “Web3 Recruitment/Job Application Requirements” with senior Web3 practitioners, and provided guides for people who are struggling to find jobs in the current environment.
  • Ontology Head of Community Humpty and Americas Ecosystem Lead Erick were invited to join Twitter Spaces hosted by famous blockchain media outlet Crypto Sapiens, and shared views of “Key Challenges of DID Construction” and “The Composition of Web3 Reputation”.
  • Ontology has published several OWN Insights, focusing on “Web3 technology and product realization approach”, “DID and DAO commercialization” and “Brand strategy in a bear market”, discussing the current development strategy and future development direction of Web3 and Ontology.
