CPO Magazine — GDPR-Compliant Blockchain: Personal Data Privacy in Blockchain

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was introduced by the European Union (EU) on May 25, 2018. GDPR was enacted to protect personal data, and ensure it is stored when there is a lawful basis, such as when consent is given or when legally required. This regulation aims to protect citizens’ data and includes the right to access, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restriction of processing, right to be informed, right to data portability, and right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (including profiling).

Ontology prides itself on protecting personal data privacy, and we are devoted to providing the rights of self-sovereign ID, DID, and data, for users. Similarly, SAGA, our decentralized marketplace, is building distributed data capabilities for enterprises with blockchain, and is using blockchain to help protect consumers’ data privacy.
