Ontology, a new high-performance public multi-chain project and a distributed trust collaboration platform, held its MainNet launch event in Seoul, South Korea, on August 18th. The event brought together blockchain industry elites and Ontology ecosystem partners to present the launch of Ontology 1.0 in Korea.

At the beginning of the conference, Hyeong Joo Kim, Chairman of the Korea Blockchain Industry Promotion Association, delivered an opening speech. He said:

“As the core technology of the ‘fourth industrial revolution’, blockchain will change people’s lifestyles.”

He expressed his intent to unite the community and everyone’s strength to improve the legal and regulatory system needed for this industrial revitalization.

Perry Jung, Chairman of Chainers, expressed his confidence in the progress of Ontology since its release, mentioning in his speech:

“Blockchain is a brand-new area for economic cooperation, and the support and incentivization Ontology gives for its community and other excellent projects sets the paradigm for future economic cooperation between China and South Korea, and I hope Chainers will play a role in facilitating this”.

Perry Jung, Chairman of Chainers

Hwisang Kim, CIO of Hashed, said:

“Technology, founding team, and business model are Hashed’s three major investment principles. Ontology meets all three of these conditions, and with consensus and continued innovation, we look forward to seeing Ontology more real business scenarios across diverse sectors”.

LI Jun, Founder of Ontology, followed, giving a keynote speech detailing the key aspects of Ontology’s technology, products, and ecosystem.

LI Jun said:

“Ontology is dedicated to building a distributed trust ecosystem and the bridge between real businesses and distributed technology. The Ontology chain network system, VBFT consensus algorithm, smart contract system, and governance model are all important technological components of Ontology. At the same time, Ontology 1.0 has several key products — comprehensive decentralized client ONTO, desktop wallet OWallet, and smart contract IDE Smart X. These bring a more efficient development experience and support, and continue to enrich the Ontology ecosystem”.

LI Jun then gave a detailed introduction to Ontology ecosystem partners. Ontology has always adhered to a “real economy” strategy and has now entered partnerships covering the automobile industry, IoT, financial credit, digital advertising, medical health, games, content, audio and video, security, and other fields. This close integration will continue to blossom as more partners develop dApps and cooperate in other ways with Ontology’s technology, whilst ensuring the security of the entire ecosystem.

Mathias Glintborg, Global Development Manager of Ontology, shared the development progress of the Ontology community and the plans for the next phase. The Ontology technical community is open to support from across the world and has allocated 100,000,000 ONT for community incentives. With the Ontology technical bounty program in full swing, Mathias said:

“The community is core to Ontology’s overall development. We’re excited to see the initial support we have received and welcome more people to join us in future development”.

Ontology will be holding two MainNet launch events in Tokyo August 24th-25th, one closed event for local corporates and one open to the public. Later this year, Ontology will be attending several conferences and holding hackathons and meetups to further introduce Ontology’s technology and project progress with more people, and with it expand the community and onboard new partners.

About Ontology

Ontology is a new high-performance public multi-chain project and a distributed trust collaboration platform.

Ontology provides new high-performance public blockchains that include a series of complete distributed ledger and smart contract systems.

Ontology blockchain framework supports public blockchain systems and is able to customize different public blockchains for different applications. Ontology supports collaboration among chain networks with its various protocol groups.

Ontology will constantly provide common modules on the underlying infrastructure for different kinds of distributed scenarios, such as those for the distributed digital identity framework, distributed data exchange protocol, and so on. Based on specific scenario requirements, Ontology will continue to develop new common modules.
