OWallet FAQ

Find the OWallet stake authorization FAQ here.

What are the keystore.db and .dat files?

The keystore.db file is the file that OWallet uses to store all wallet information in. Users must back up this file and should not edit it.

The .dat file is a file that each individual wallet can export and be used as a backup file for the wallet. Also, the startup wallet for Ontology nodes is a .dat format file, so Ontology nodes can be started with the exported .dat file if needed.

Can I use my ONTO keystore to import a wallet into OWallet?

No, keystore in ONTO and OWallet use a different format. Please use your mnemonic phrase to import an ONTO wallet into OWallet.

Does OWallet support Linux?

OWallet v0.8.8 supports Linux. If you are a Linux Ledger user, please input the following into command line so you can connect your Ledger:

sudo ./sudo ./owallet-0.8.8-x86_64.AppImage

How can Ledger users complete the token swap?

We recommend Ledger users create an individual wallet in OWallet, send your NEP-5 ONT to the wallet, and complete the token swap in OWallet from there.

How can I receive my NEO Council ONT airdrop second half?

Ontology community developer Backslash has built a Chrome plugin wallet which allows users to access their NEO Ledger address on the Ontology MainNet. This means users can access the NEO Council ONT airdrop second half without using their mnemonic phrase!
