At the start of April, Ontology announced the launch of their $100,000 global virtual hackathon with DoraHacks, to help BUIDL the future of Web3. The Ontology grants program is running between the 1st-30th April, and offers Web3 developers the opportunity to showcase their ideas, particularly around privacy and decentralized identity.

Projects are being submitted at the official DoraHacks portal, and developers are encouraged to keep submitting their projects, with more details available in the handy Dorahacks guide.

Of course, with all of these great ideas being submitted, we’re going to need some help voting for the winners. This is where you can help to vote for the projects you like, and increase the prize pool available to them. All of your votes will count towards the prize pool for developers, providing even greater incentives for them to build the Web3 we want to experience.

To thank you for taking the time to vote, we have over 1500 ONG to give away to people who take the time to vote for their favorite projects. Taking part couldn’t be easier, simply follow the official VOTING GUIDE.

Rules:

1. First-Come-First-Served (900 ONG)

The first 300 participants voting for candidate projects in the Ontology Grant Hackathon, will each earn 3 ONG.

2. Top Voters (390 ONG)

The 10 participants with the highest vote total will share the ONG reward pool

Top 1: 100 ONG

Top 2: 70 ONG

Top 3: 50 ONG

Top 4–6: 30 ONG each

Top 7–10: 20 ONG each

* If there are winners with the same number of votes, the corresponding rewards will be shared equally.

3. Lucky Draw (300 ONG)

Every vote you make equals one lucky draw ticket. 10 winners will each win 30 ONG in the draw.

Note that according to the voting rules, “The Nth vote towards the same project will cost N*1 ONG, so if you’re going to give 3 votes to the same project, you need to pay 1+2+3=6 ONG”. If you give 3 votes to 3 different projects, you need to pay 1+1+1=3 ONG.

* Each participant can be rewarded only once. (The highest reward will be taken.)

ONG used for voting will not be returned to the voter, but will go to the project they voted for (minus a 5% protocol fee).

The Ontology team will reserve the final rights of interpretation of this event.
