We are thrilled to announce that Onyx has been acquired by Cure.fit!

We started Onyx a little over two years ago with one core mission — to make truly personalized and connected fitness accessible to anyone.

We’re excited to accelerate our shared vision at Cure.fit, and together bring incredible digital fitness experiences to a global audience even faster.

Our story

Before Onyx, we spent our evenings going to the gym, attending studio classes, and working out with trainers. As we got busier and shifted our workouts home, we felt that our options were limited.

From on-demand videos to training apps, there was no accountability to actually performing the exercise, no feedback on our form, and no feeling of real time interaction and community.

While connected bikes and equipment began to solve these problems, these devices were very inaccessible, and still barely scratched the surface on the level of personalization that we wanted in a workout experience.

And so, Onyx was born. By bringing 3D motion capture to mobile devices for the first time, we’ve been able to track nearly any exercise, provide real-time form guidance and personalization, and bring the connected fitness experience to anyone’s home without the need for expensive equipment.

And as cliché as it is… we are just getting started! We’re excited to accelerate our growth at Cure.fit and continue pursuing the same mission.
