Ice swimming in Obbola
About upcoming events, please, check Umeå polar bear society, Facebook group. The usual schedule for winter swimming is Sundays from 12.00 to 13.00. But it can change.
The last activity of 2020 was on March 29th, when the photos are taken.
To get there: by car set the navigator to Umeå Segelsällskap, the road will end with a turnpike. Do not worry, just wait for a little and it opens, so you can park on the territory of the Yacht Club. By bus: line 123 from Vasaplan (Umeå) to Byviken (the stop where you should leave the bus).
Water temperature: In March the temperature of the water was under 1 C.
At the place, you will find a changing room and sauna. Talking to people, I realized that the sauna is usually off, but it worked at the last event of Spring 2020.
