The FLO Foundation and Opacity look forward to promoting privacy-centric applications and giving control of private data back to their users.

Opacity (https://opacity.io/) and FLO (https://www.flo.cash/) are pleased to announce a new partnership to further development and promotion of new blockchain-based privacy-oriented communications applications. This alliance will help push these applications forward towards mass adoption.

“The aim of the Open Index Protocol is to enable decentralized, permissionless, open source data storage. Opacity hits the mark with its decentralized architecture and brings in an encryption layer missing from most other file storage systems. We’re looking forward to working with the Opacity team on integrating their software in the Open Index Protocol and indexing file handles within the metadata on the FLO blockchain.”

— FLO Lead Developer, Joseph Fiscella.

The partnership includes two primary short-term goals:

First, the teams will together explore layer 2 storage solutions based on the Open Index Protocol and other applications. In many decentralized protocols and their supporting network applications, storage is a critical feature that requires security, privacy, and speed while adhering to a permissionless structure.

Second, OIP will consider adopting Opacity as an option for decentralized content storage due to Opacity’s capabilities for strong privacy protection via always-on encryption and never requiring personal user data to be provided or stored. The goal is to explore ways to use Opacity to supplement OIP’s existing storage capabilities for decentralized applications.

“The more connections across crypto projects, the better it is for the entire ecosystem. We are excited to work with FLO and support their need for encrypted storage enabled by crypto technology. I’m confident we’ll be able to integrate effectively with OIP and enable long term growth together”.

- Jason Coppola, CEO of Opacity.

In furtherance of these goals, Opacity will be giving 200 users who hold FLO token a free subscription for a year of 128GB zero-knowledge private storage with Opacity.

The FLO Foundation will be giving away FLO cryptocurrency to 200 Opacity community members, so each community can experience the respective systems. Details will be announced on the Opacity and FLO Blockchain Twitter profiles soon.

About FLO Blockchain

FLO is a cryptocurrency metadata network powering peer to peer search. OIP, an indexing layer on top of FLO, uses the FLO cryptocurrency to pay for metadata entries and help end users find content on the decentralized web.

About Opacity

Founded in 2018, Opacity Storage is dedicated to online data privacy and security. Online data breaches continue to be a major consumer risk. Opacity is reducing this risk by removing the need to provide personal payment data and by decentralizing files stored online.
