New Accounts
Activity in plans of all sizes continued to grow in August!
While not a guarantee for the future and still early to judge accurately, extrapolating the growth of the past 2 months puts us on pace to reach 10,000 accounts by early next year. Spread the word and help us get to over 1000 accounts in September!
- Total Plans increased from 590 to 859
- Free Plans increased from 140 to 350
- 128GB Basic Plans increased from 369 to 377
- 1TB Professional Plans increased from 78 to 105
- 2TB Business Plans increased from 3 to 27
- Total Storage Used increased from 531GB to 849GB
Advertising and Traffic
Ads in August did the job in driving significant new traffic to the site. We increased from 11k site users from all of May-July to almost 20k users since May 1, increasing new user traffic in August over July by 182%!
Much of this traffic is not only derived from incoming ad traffic, but also from our existing members generating visits from the file /Share page. The /Share page accounted for a whopping 65% of traffic to the site in August with 12k pageviews. This is absolutely phenomenal and one of the desired outcomes for site traffic as outreach and exposure continues to grow.
Web Ranking and Site Engagement
Our Alexa website rank continues to improve from 404k in July to 350k in August.
Engagement metrics remain very healthy in relation to other storage providers. All key metrics remain better than Sia.
Coming in August
While our rate of development continues to slow due to reduced team size, we are expecting a few key features in September.
- Upgrade Plan so members can upgrade to a paid or larger account and take full advantage of the desktop sync app and larger storage.
- Upload folders with files inside for easier upload management and convenience.
- Distributed Storage Prototype to showcase our ability to host files from non-AWS storage locations, a first step on the road to decentralization.
