Who are our students? Why did they come to the CRI (Centre de Recherches Interdisciplinaires, Université de Paris)? I am continuing my little series of portraits of a daring youth who take the risk of going off the road to go further and longer. I continue Perhaps you are like Sowmya, who left from Bangalore to Paris because she dreamed of living the adventure of 5 years of interdisciplinary studies in Paris to the fullest.
When Somwya Rajan joined Master Aire at CRI-Paris, she already had a robust technical profile in programming, automatic speech recognition, and data science, that she improves day after day in machine learning and robotics. She knows how to use Python, Tensorflow, or Pytorch libraries. She is also a Wikipedia contributor and active on open source communities, including English, French, Kannada translation. What does the CRI offer to her? Firstly she has obtained a scholarship of excellence, awarded by the jury of the Graduate school, which gives her security on a 5-year project (Two years of the master program, and three years for the future Ph.D.), Secondly an ecosystem of participatory research and cross-disciplinary approaches. Thirdly a living community that supports her in projects “for good” devoted to the ecological, scientific, and social challenges of her time.
If you recognize yourself in this quick portrait, or if you want to complete yours with us, join us, and we will help you to live your training expedition!
