Think Small
Opensource.guide
I hear a lot of people talk about going all in. Going all in is great in poker but not the best strategy for getting what you want out of life. There are other minor details that get in the way….
Sleeping at least a few hours
Eating
Drinking
Family
and maybe even some Relaxation.
The point is to be successful you have to accomplish two things in life. Find problems that impact people’s lives and solve those problems as efficiently as possible. That is it. Sorry.
How many times have you thought, “I wish there was something that…..wouldn’t that be great?” Well that is a problem and if you hear enough other people asking the same problem then there is an opportunity for you to solve it.
Sometimes there isn’t an app for that. Sometimes the solution will never go to scale. Maybe that company will never go public. Maybe there isn’t even a full time solution for the problem. But that doesn’t mean that a solution isn’t deserved or that there isn’t an opportunity.
Too often we get wound up by the big dogs talking about how they took their product or service to scale. And are we not jealous of all the toys, ubers, and events these folks get to attend and have? The truth of the matter is most people who solve simple problems will never leave the glamorous lifestyle and will probably never make millions but that doesn’t make their work any less valuable than that of a Silicon Valley or Wall Street Scion!
It may be time to think small, think micro. Solve a problem and then solve another one. You are still a C.E.O. just of a small company….nothing wrong or shameful in that.
