MITx MicroMasters® Program Expands its Global Pathways

Credential may now be applied toward several new graduate programs worldwide

MITx MicroMasters® Programs

2021 marks the fifth year since the first MITx MicroMasters® program was founded. We have grown to include five programs across MIT:

The MicroMasters program credential from MIT is a professional and academic credential for online learners from anywhere in the world who seek focused and accelerated advancement. Learners who successfully earn the MITx MicroMasters credential in one of these programs are eligible to obtain credit at MIT or other pathway schools across the globe to fast-track their pursuit of a full Master’s degree if admitted to any of the pathway schools. In total, these five programs now offer 153 credential pathways from 40 schools in 25 countries.

A number of universities around the world have recently become MicroMasters pathway schools. Credential earners are now eligible to apply their program credential at the following universities in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Covenant University (Nigeria)

Covenant University is a private university in Ota, Nigeria. Covenant offers four master’s programs to MicroMasters credential earners in SCM, DEDP, PoM, and SDS respectively: SCM (Master of Business Administration), DEDP (Master of Economics), PoM (Master of Mechanical Engineering), and SDS (Master of Computer Science).

Laweh Open University College (Ghana)

Laweh Open University College is the first accredited Open University College in Accra, Ghana. SCM and PoM MicroMasters program credential earners are offered the possibility of earning credits towards the completion of their MBA Procurement and Supply Chain Management program. Learners who have completed the DEDP or SDS MicroMasters program can apply to Laweh’s MBA Finance and Accounting program. DEDP program credential earners are also eligible to apply to Laweh’s MSc in Development Economics program.

Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (India)

Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) is a private university located in Bangalore, India. RUAS offers a pathway towards their MBA program to credential earners from the SCM MicroMasters program.

American University of Central Asia (Kyrgyz Republic)

American University of Central Asia (AUCA) is a liberal arts university in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. AUCA grants DEDP and SDS MicroMasters program credential earners credits towards the completion of their Master of Science in Economics.

Kangwon National University (South Korea)

Kangwon National University (KNU) is a national university in Gangwon-do, South Korea. PoM MicroMasters program credential earners can apply to any Master’s Degree Programs under the Graduate School of Industry at KNU (excluding the Design major). KNU also offers a pathway for our SDS MicroMasters program credential earners into their MBA program.

Eurasian Management and Administration School (EMAS Business School) (Russia)

EMAS Business School is a private business school located in Moscow, Russia. EMAS offers SDS MicroMasters program credential earners a path towards their MBA, Executive MBA, and Doctor of Business Administration. All three programs can be completed on-campus, online, or in a blended format. Students may choose to take their courses in Russian or English.

American University of the Middle East (Kuwait)

The American University of the Middle East (AUM) is an institution established in Kuwait. AUM offers the credential earners of the MicroMasters program in Finance the possibility of earning credits towards the completion of their Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

Bethel University (St. Paul, MN, USA)

Bethel University (St. Paul, MN) is a private institution. Their Master of Business Administration (MBA) accepts SCM, DEDP, PoM, and SDS MicroMasters program credential earners. Learners may also apply to the Bethel MBA program while completing their MicroMasters program.

Northwestern University (USA)

Northwestern University is a private university located in Evanston, Illinois. Their Accelerated Master’s program in Data Science offered by the School of Professional Studies is open to credential earners from the SDS MicroMasters program. Learners in the accelerated program can earn their degrees by completing nine courses, compared to the standard 12-course curriculum. This Master’s program is offered completely online; the flexibility enables learners to fit school into their busy lives.

University of San Francisco (USA)

The University of San Francisco (USF) is a private university in San Francisco, California. Learners who have completed the DEDP or SDS MicroMasters program may apply to the Master of Science in International and Development Economics and Master of Science in Applied Economics programs. USF’s Master of Science in Applied Economics program is also available for the Finance MicroMasters program credential earners. Learners may apply to USF before the completion of their MicroMasters programs.

Queen’s University (Canada)

Queen’s University is a public research university in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Queen’s Smith School of Business offers MITx MicroMasters program in Statistics and Data Science credential earners the possibility of earning credits/units towards the completion of the Master of Management Analytics (MMA), the Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence (MMAI), and the Global Master of Management Analytics (GMMA). Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (Peru)

Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) is a private university in Lima, Peru. PUCP offers a pathway for SCM MicroMasters program credential earners into their Master of Engineering and Management of Supply Chain.

Universidad EAN (Colombia)

Universidad EAN is a private university in Bogotá, Colombia. Learners who have completed the SCM and PoM MicroMasters programs can apply to EAN’s online Master’s in Supply Chain Management and Master’s in Processes Engineering programs. DEDP MicroMasters credential earners are eligible to apply to the Master’s in International Businesses program. SDS MicroMasters program credential earners can apply to the online Master’s in Business Intelligence program. Finance MicroMasters program learners may apply their credential to the Master’s program in Financial Management. In addition to the degree programs listed above, all other master’s degree programs (52 credits requirement for each) at EAN will grant at least 9 credits to each of the MITx MicroMasters program credential.
