Dear SnotTheHoople268,

Let me start by offering my deepest and most sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved wife of 28 years: Angelica June. It seems that, based on the short paragraph you shared in the comments of Rod Stewart’s 1994 performance of “Rhythm of My Heart” from Wembley Stadium, you two shared a deep and passionate bond until her untimely passing four years ago from complications related to Crohn’s Disease. I’ll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

I am, however, just a tad bit concerned that such a video — especially one that features the Grammy-winning singer kicking countless soccer balls into the crowd and acting inappropriately with the scantily clad musician playing bagpipes—brought you to “the edge of tears” with its “beauty, majesty, and reminder of good times.” I mean, were we even watching the same performance?

Even the casual Stewart aficionado knows that the 1994 tour isn’t close to peak Rod — and to pretend otherwise is a miscarriage of truth. His voice is shot, his hair is flat, and he’s clearly indulging in too many libations to put together a respectable set. And yet, in the face of this farce, you bring up your departed wife? What kind of Coyote Ugly waste-of-space must Angelica June have been for this sub-par performance to inspire you to compose such an inane comment in her memory? In addition to the Crohn’s complications that killed her — was she also tone-deaf?

Surely, if you still think it’s a good idea to sum up 28 years of marriage in a Youtube comment, there are any number of better Rod Stewart videos you could have smeared with your sentimental feces. Perhaps his unplugged performance of Van Morrison’s “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?” or even his Top of the Pop’s rendition of “I’d Rather Go Blind?” But, I’m guessing you haven’t even watched those performances; I bet you didn’t even know they exist.

SnotTheHoople268 — your dumb, dead wife deserves better.

Though Youtube has not yet responded to my repeated requests to become a moderator on the SuddenlyStewart channel, I’m still taking it upon myself to report your comment for a Terms of Use violation on principle alone. I hope this action will teach you that a lifetime of joy and happiness with your soulmate is worth more than a comment on a video of a subpar Scottish sailing ballad poorly performed by a has-been clown to whose music I’ve dedicated my life.

Again, my deepest condolences.
