Open Marketplace Applications — Drone Delivery Use Case
Today, 14% of all purchases are e-sales*withprediction of increasing numbers. The most of these purchases will be delivered via delivery services. Parcel delivery services will be expended by drones for cities and longer distances. We want to take a look into the future and build a Proof of Concept for the Open Marketplace.
For some extra motivation, one team participating in the IOTA Hackster.io Hackathon — Build a Marketplace of Devices.
For the Hackathon, we need to use the IOTA Industry Marketplace, the first autonomous and decentralized industry marketplace.
We want to build a bridge between the industry and local communities with decentralized marketplaces.
The challenge is to show the delivery and charging process of a delivery drone in a simulated environment — but with real data and payments.
Drones manufacturers can turn the autopilot on and drones deliver packages to customers and earn money.
The drone can use one of many Smart Charging Stations to fill their batteries and pay for the electricity —completely automated.
