Are We Living on the Same Planet?

Lately, I’m at a loss for conversation among family and friends. They see the world through the lens of CNN and MSNBC, and get a bit angry when I even try to mention that all our nation’s problems don’t begin and end with Donald J. Trump.

I am no fan of Donald Trump; let me make that clear. But I have to admit that Trump does one thing very well — and that is grabbing attention for himself. And the mainstream media amplifies his every word, no matter how ridiculous.

So, while the US powers-that-be have bi-partisanly spent decades instigating and enabling wars, cutting already measly social services programs, doing nothing for homeless people living and dying on the streets, adding billions to a bloated military budget, and refusing to implement a universal healthcare plan — suddenly the retroactive cause of all these problems is Donald J. Trump, because he’s the one doing all the talking.

The Democrats do little to nothing to solve our nation’s woes, but they present the public with lots of excuses as to why they just can’t seem to act on the will of the people. Oh sure, they voted to cut the budgets of social services programs, but darn-it-all, they tried their best but had to give in to…
