OpenSocial Protocol To Develop Web3 Social Graph For BNB Chain
Hong Kong, 26 August 2024 — OpenSocial Protocol (OpenSocial), a composable infrastructure layer for building social applications, announced a strategic integration with BNB Chain, a decentralized blockchain ecosystem, with the aim of accelerating the growth of community decentralized applications (dApps) in the Web3 space.
As part of the integration, OpenSocial will develop a social graph system for BNB Chain’s BNB Attestation Service (BAS), an infrastructure built on the BNB ecosystem for generating attestation to verify information, and BNB Greenfield, a cutting-edge decentralized storage and blockchain storage solution, by acting as the execution layer for users to interact with dApps, hence becoming the go-to social data layer for BNB Chain builders and users, providing Social Graph as a Service (SGaaS), and supporting the growth of social dApps.
By integrating OpenSocial’s decentralized social graph, BAS and BNB Greenfield can develop and utilize their very own network of community through the use of soulbound tokens to create secure and unique onchain identities. The Social Graphs allow developers to assign identities to their users and track their social connections. This, in turn, gives developers data on their dApp’s social activity, helping them better understand their community, user behavior and relationships, design experiences, and use cases that foster stronger social engagement and participation within the growing BNB ecosystem.
“We believe in the importance of Social and how it can change the way users communicate in the base layer. Social graphs are the key to unlocking the true potential of decentralized networks by facilitating meaningful onchain connections. We’re proud to integrate with BNB Chain to strengthen the social layer of their growing ecosystem with its 1.4 million daily active users.”
Sean Tao, Co-Founder of OpenSocial Protocol.
“BNB Chain is excited to work with OpenSocial to develop a social graph for the BNB Chain ecosystem and accelerate the growth of promising social apps,”
BNB Chain Core Development Team.
With the $15M OpenSocial ecosystem fund to empower the next-generation community dApps, OpenSocial will launch its first BNB dApp BreadnButter, the go-to decentralized forum app for the BNB community in cultivating a sense of collective social identity.

About BNB Chain
BNB Chain is a community-driven blockchain ecosystem that is removing barriers to Web3 adoption. It is composed of:
- BNB Smart Chain (BSC): A secure DeFi hub with the lowest gas fees of any EVM-compatible L1; serves as the ecosystem’s governance chain.
- opBNB: A scalability L2 that delivers some of the lowest gas fees of any L2 and rapid processing speeds.
- BNB Greenfield: Meets decentralized storage needs for the ecosystem and lets users establish their own data marketplaces.
- Setting a high bar for security, the AvengerDAO community protects BNB Chain users while Red Alarm provides a real-time risk-scanner for Dapps. The ecosystem also offers a range of monetary and ecosystem rewards as part of its Builder Support Program.
About BNB Attestation Service
The BNB Attestation Service (BAS) is an infrastructure built on the BNB ecosystem for generating attestation to verify information. BAS assists users in on-chain or off-chain verification, allowing them to assert ownership of attestation by storing them in Greenfield. This approach ensures data privacy and access control.
