When asked about what his advice he would be to first time entrepreneurs, Steve said, “You need to leave your house and get out there and talk to customers…you can’t just code.”
Steve didn’t seek out creating a restaurant tech startup, it found him. Bbot started when he was sitting at a bar, drinking beers with his electrical engineer friends, when they noticed a very inefficient process to ordering. They started hacking on ideas to make restaurants, and other industries more efficient.
“We’re seeing a point of sale industry that is fracturing. We’re starting to see the verticalization of Point of Sale companies.”
Bbot is a smart ordering technology company allowing guests to order food + drinks using their phone that arrives directly to their table. No need to swipe a card, sign a receipt, or wait in line; guests order and pay for food and drinks from the comfort of their table. This technology enables servers and bartenders to touch more tables, making more happy customers.
The new diner want the option to have an experience where they drive it themselves. And because there are more orders being generated with less staff, servers are seeing more tips, as the tip pools are increasing.
