Citizen Science Day 2016 : What will you explore?

Citizen science has been gaining momentum around the country and world. Building off last year’s Open Science and Innovation event at the White House, the community has set aside April 16th, 2016 as a day of celebration. There are a number of ideas and ways to get involved, and you can read more about the day on the FAQ page of the Citizen Science Association.
We want the OpenExplorer community to take part, too. For our part, we’re going to send out an OpenROV 2.8 Kit to 5 expeditions that are using citizen science to better understand their marine environments. (Check out the Seastar Wasting Syndrome Survey expedition as an example.)
To get your own OpenROV 2.8 Kit for your project, be one of the first 5 new expeditions to…
- Add at least 3 expedition collaborators.
- Post a background post about your expedition, as well as one preparation post about your planning process.
- Attract 50 followers to your expedition.
Be sure to check out this post on how to get started. The Citizen Science Day/OpenROV initiative is made possible by the support of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
