Recently, two teams set out to explore shipwrecks and corals and instead came face to face with some charismatic aquatic fauna! Not an ichthyologist? Neither are we! Perhaps you are the fish enthusiast we have been looking for! Help out explorers — shed more light on these species, and their behavior.

Diving With Sharks in the Caribbean

Investigating coral formations in the Caribbean, this explorer came face to face with sharks! Silky sharks are surprisingly curious and chased an OpenROV up and down the water column, bumping and eyeing it suspiciously. There’s video! What are your thoughts on this behavior?!

New Propellers and Old Ships

This project aimed to test a new vertical propeller for an ROV and stumbled on several interesting objects and creatures in the process. The pilots investigating a sunken sailboat were caught off guard by a surprise encounter with a Mackinaw.
