Dear OpenName fams,

We are thrilled to announce the launch of OpenName 2.0! This significant update revolutionizes the decentralized domain name game, empowering users with more autonomy and financial rewards.

In version 2.0, OpenName users can register their own TLDs and earn a share of the domain registration fees. This innovative move grants users greater flexibility and economic incentives, allowing for a more personalized experience in the decentralized domain market.

Users have ownership, management, pricing, operation, and revenue rights over their TLDs, presenting more business opportunities. Users can set domain prices based on their needs and market conditions, resulting in increased revenue and returns. Revenue sharing is executed directly by smart contracts, eliminating the need for centralized operations, and ensuring users can fully enjoy the benefits of decentralized domain names.

The launch of OpenName 2.0 marks a new milestone for the decentralized domain industry. We believe this major update will unlock broader growth potential and financial rewards while giving users more autonomy and engagement. We eagerly look forward to pioneering a new era of decentralized domain names together with OpenName 2.0 users!

FAQ

What is OpenName?

OpenName is an Omnichain Name Service designed for millions of Web3 users. It supports seamless cross-chain name transfer using LayerZero and also supports custom TLDs.

How does OpenName work?

At OpenName, users can register their favorite web3 domains, TLDs and establish their own domain ecosystem.

When you register a TLD, you have ownership, management, operation, and revenue rights over the TLD. Every time someone uses your TLD to register a domain name, you can earn domain registration fees!

OpenName helps users generate income, enhance community consensus, and improve brand awareness.

What is an OpenName TLD?

A TLD (top-level domain) is the highest level of a domain name, located after the final dot. For example, in the domain name ‘thank.you’, ‘.you’ is the TLD.

How to Earn with OpenName?

There are two ways to earn income through OpenName:

  1. Registering one or more TLDs: When you register a TLD, you can promote it and earn 70% of the domain registration fees whenever someone uses your TLD to register a domain. This process is executed by the smart contract, and the revenue is automatically credited without manual operation.
  2. OpenName invitation program: You can generate an exclusive invitation link from OpenName invite interface. Whenever a user registers a domain name or TLD through your link, you can receive up to 25% of the referral fees as commission.

How is OpenName priced?

Both OpenName’s domains and TLDs are priced based on their character length. The minimum price for a domain is $0.99/year, and the minimum price for a TLD is $99/year (excluding special TLDs).

Are there any character restrictions on domain and TLD registration for OpenName?

No, OpenName follows the spirit of Web3 and allows domain or TLD registration for all character lengths. If you don’t want your favorite domain or TLD to be registered, take action as soon as possible!

What are the differences between OpenName and other domain services?

  • OpenName offers multi-chain functionality, allowing domain names to operate on multiple chains.
  • OpenName enables true cross-chain domain name transfers, allowing seamless movement of domain names across different chains.
  • OpenName provides a low-cost, high-quality domain name service, where users can register the best domains and TLDs at very affordable prices.
  • OpenName is not only the leading TLDs and Domains platform in Web3, but also allows users to create their own domain ecosystem and earn revenue.

These are the highlights of OpenName updates, and we’re excited to bring you even more enhancements in the future. OpenName is committed to providing you with a secure, user-friendly, and feature-rich experience as we navigate the exciting world of Web3.
