When was the last time you went on an adventure? If you’re like most people, it’s been awhile. Actually, let’s be honest, it’s probably been a long time. So what’s holding you back?

I’m going to go ahead and assume it’s simply the invitation. The older we get the less invitations we get to go on adventures and the more stuck we get in our daily lives. So I’m here to break up the mundanity (lack of excitement) and give you a shot of adrenaline that will give your daily life a new meaning of purpose and passion.

How so? By inviting you to meet some of the raddest, coolest, most amazing people I know. And they just happen to be living in one of the most historic, beautiful, and hospitable places on earth. A place with great people, food, wine, and did I mention history?

Oh. And by the way, you will discover how you can love and serve people caught in the greatest crisis of the twenty-first century. By now you have probably figured it out. Yes, I am inviting you to join me on a trip to Greece in order to serve Syrian, Afghan, and Kurdish refugees caught in the midst of the Syrian and ISIS conflict.

These refugees are amazing! They are beautiful and wonderful people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and somehow have managed to escape with a smile and hope towards the future. You will meet Muhamed, a university student, who has been living in Greece for over a year. Muhamed lost everything. His family’s home, their convenient store, a restaurant, and $220,000 they had in the savings account. And still he is smiling!

When I asked Muhamed what can be done, he simply responded: “I’ve heard many times from volunteers when they came to help saying that. they feel useless but they were not because they was doing an amazing job here. It not about how much you did here, it that YOU ARE HERE. You came, you didn’t stayed affront of a screen watching news about us and feel sorry from your place there with your screen. You came to change and you did change you’ve made us feel that there is humanity somewhere in the world. You listened to our stories, then you left back to tell it to the others. Thank you for coming, listening, feeling, helping…”

While in Greece, you will listen, feel, help, and break. You’re heart will weep and your mind will begin to understand. I tell you this not because I want to scare you away but because by doing these things you will come alive and be inspired. You will change and you will change others. Most importantly, you will gain new friends who you will love dearly.

Austin, a co-adventurer from Colorado had this to say about our experience in Greece: “The week that we spent in Athens was truly an eye opening experience. Experiencing first hand the reality of the Refugee Crisis made me reflect on how I live and what I can do every day to make the world a better place.”

Maja, a co-adventurer from Germany, agrees: “Our trip to Greece left a lasting impression, from heartbreaking stories told to stories of hope from those helping. We met so many motivating and inspiring people who filled me with new ideas and positive energy. I look forward to integrating these experiences in the refugee community in my hometown Hamburg, Germany.”

In addition to visiting and serving the refugees, you will have an opportunity to visit historic sites and learn more about Greek culture. We will visit Mars Hill, the Akropolis, and the original Olympic stadium. We will also enjoy the hospitality and cooking of the Greeks. They take great pride in both, and you will not be disappointed.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s do it! A serious adventure is about to happen. Become a co-adventurer with us!
