Mark your calendar — OpenWeb host protocol launching on 21st August

We are excited to announce the launch date of OpenWeb Network host protocol. With this launch, anyone will be able to join the OpenWeb Network without any restrictions and share their computing resources with users on the network.

OpenWeb hosts are going to be the backbone of the OpenWeb Network, making it more decentralized and robust. OpenWeb users will be able to become a part of the network and power the decentralized web.

OpenWeb Network implements a unique approach to maintain the list of hosts on the network. The host registration will be done through OpenWeb Smart contract. The list of hosts is maintained in the smart contract which gets updated whenever a host joins the network. This list is used by the OpenWeb Network browser extension to identify the hosts available in the network and send the user’s request for a website to the nearest host.

The detailed instructions to set up the host will be shared with the launch.
