imToken is one of the largest Ethereum mobile wallet in the world, available on Android & IOS, with more than 6 million users producing 10% of Ethereum’s transaction volume. That’s huge!
imToken was introduced on the market in 2016, and within two years, it expanded to more than 200 countries striving to bridge the gap between Blockchain technology and general masses with a simple and secure digital asset management platform. The company raised a $10 million Series A funding from IDG Capital. The wallet supports multiple tokens and blockchains, and has 4 million monthly active users. imToken claims to process $35 million worth of transactions in 2017 which beats even the well-established exchanges.
On the security front, imToken doesn’t store the user’s private keys on its servers, and they always remain inside the wallet, in the custody of the user. To put rest to the apprehensions about the security of a mobile wallet, they hired ‘Blue,’ an internet security expert to lead their product security team. There are multiple updates released by the imToken developers, and they aspire to be ‘Blockchain-agnostic’ digital asset management ecosystem.
Coincidently, imToken also resonates with the philosophy of the OpenWeb Network, i.e., Privacy& Anonymity. A user doesn’t need to provide any personal details for verification to use the wallet protecting the privacy of the user.
