The month of love started on a very positive note for the OpenWeb network. We achieved two milestones last week — OpenWeb Network is now live on the popular portfolio tracker apps — Blockfolio and Delta!

Blockfolio is known as the world’s most popular free cryptocurrency portfolio management app, with the support for multiple cryptocurrencies. It raised $11.5 million last year and has more than 4.5 million users. Delta is another popular portfolio management app that supports more than 3000 cryptocurrencies and 200+ exchanges.

With both these integrations, OpenWeb Token (OWT) buyers can easily track their investment in OWTs along with their other crypto investments, and can take advantage of market fluctuations to buy more OWTs.

OWTs allow the users of OpenWeb Network to

  • Register and renew domains
  • Publish decentralised website
  • Access websites (consume content)
  • Staking tokens on trusted hosts

Apart from these, OWT tokens are used to pay OpenWeb Hosts — those who share their device’s computing power, and OpenWeb Stakeholders — those who stake tokens to host.

“When decentralized blockchain protocols start displacing the centralized web services that dominate the current Internet, we’ll start to see real internet-based sovereignty. The future Internet will be decentralized.” Olaf Carlson-Wee

OpenWeb Network utilizes Blockchain technology and distributed hosting to create a peer to peer decentralized web network that is free from intermediaries, who control most of the information in the present day scenario. It is an inclusive internet where everyone can participate and contribute to the network, and get rewarded while doing so.

The project went live in January this year and browser extension to access the web was released the very next day. Two websites have already been published on the platform.
