Someone to Lava

A bunch of years ago, I went to Brazil because I wanted to see what carnival was like. Sure, everyone thinks it’s where perverts and exhibitionists celebrate debauchery but of course the truth is always far different than the stereotypes. I had a wonderful time exploring the country and experiencing new things. I had his notebook that I carried around with me everywhere I went and I jotted down every little thing that happened. I was quite pleased with myself and when I got back home, I gave my journal to my friend — Darci — and she was able to get a much better account of what Brazil was like than if I had tried to do it all from memory.
These entries on Medium are sort of like that. It’s an electronic journal and even though I’m way behind this is a form of bringing the journey to life. So, buckle your seatbelt, Dorothy, because Kansas is going “bye bye” :) he he Well, not at light speed but I couldn’t resist the Matrix reference.
I loved lounging around the house with Carissa. I was supposed to work on my journal. Naturally, I didn’t. Instead, I texted back and forth with Sarah D hoping to get together and interrupted Carissa a million times who was trying to get preparations done for her upcoming trip to China.
This girl blows me away! She is the most genuine person ever. With her, what you see is what you get. That’s so refreshing. But also so brave and creative and artsy. Pure amazingness! :)
At the end of the evening we watched Inside Out and I loved it so much!! I feel that in personifying emotions, the creators were able to capture so well what goes inside ourselves. Of course, I shouted at the TV, giggled, cried a little and generally felt all the ups and downs that went along with it.
Overall, a beautiful day! Felt very at peace!
