Why A Feminist?

We suffer not because of nature but more by a tradition

“Feminists are not born, they are made, remade to be made again”.

My mom, my aunt, my sister, my neighbor, my patients, and other women have two things in common — enduring suffering and being female.

I have always seen bizarre authoritarian masculine idiosyncrasy men imposing on women in our societies. But why? Because we live in a patriarchal society, which favors particular sex over others. The woman in such a society is, in a sense, provisional as she has always been defined with reference to men and never given an Independent stature. So, the construct is already set, of being only inferior, resembling the fact of the superiority of the predominant sex.

Their subordination ought to the essential feminist qualities — affection, care, forbearance, devotion, and resilience. However, I don’t deny men have these peculiarities, still, the comparative degree of acknowledgment and tenderness she receives is highly skewed.

Just like there is no problem in being black, but an ingrained culture of the racial superiority of whites. On the same grounds, feminity has nothing to do with the biology, socio-psychological, or even Intellect, yet a contrive of…
