Why the school education system is unfair.

Honestly, the Australian education system is completely rubbish. It’s inefficient, it’s expensive, and it teaches us things that we don’t need to learn. Why should we be taught calculus if we want to become lawyers? So much time is wasted on systematically learning every single subject. I don’t need to know about 11th century Vikings in order to become successful. We spend so much time on things that we will literally never use again! What’s even worse is that parents and taxpayers pay a LOT of money for that. I don’t need a $70 art textbook if I’m never planning on drawing self-portraits, and knowing the correct way to shade a 3-point perspective drawing won’t ever help me get a job. In lower year levels, variety in your subjects is certainly a good thing, as it helps kids discover new things, and maybe find something that they’re interested in, but in any year level past the seventh, education should be catered for each student individually. If they don’t want nor need to learn and spend time on a certain subject, they shouldn’t have to do it!
