Yup, you read that correctly.

Important: 11:59 PM MST Monday, October 25th Staking Deadline!!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that we cleared not one, not two, but three milestones, closing three epochs! That means three Epochs worth of Employee-Member Rewards, Employee-Member-Referral Rewards, and Coalition Staking Rewards were just distributed.

Staking

Normally, we clear a single Epoch and 5M are minted and distributed, but because we grew from ~$396k in Payroll Volume to ~$517k in Payroll Volume, 15M $WORK were minted and distributed.

The EPOCH 8 SNAPSHOT was taken on Friday September 10 @ 11:59pm MST. Any $WORK you had staked from September 10 through October 15 were eligible for staking rewards and shared a pro-rata portion of 3M (20% of 15M) $WORK.

If you earned $WORK and want your new $WORK to be eligible for Epoch 11 staking rewards, please stake your $WORK in the dashboard by Monday, October 25.

Membership

Our membership grew by 34% from September to October. A massive thank you to everyone who referred a new member last month!

Closing in on Epoch 11: $550,000

Epoch 11 will start when Opolis runs $550,000 in payroll volume in a cycle (Reminder: 2x/month x 12 = 24 payroll cycles each year). We aren’t likely to close Epoch 11 during the first payday in November (Nov 5), but it is incredibly likely we achieve this milestone on November’s second payday (Nov 19).

We’re well on our way to building a global public utility infrastructure for employment, one that uses positive-sum gains, abundance-based economics, and patronage to align incentives so that everyone is working toward the same goals.

Calculating Employee-Member and Referral Rewards

Epoch 8 was calculated normally. The total volume of payroll an Employee-Member runs during the entirety of an Epoch is divided by the total volume of payroll all Employee-Members run throughout the entire Epoch. This matters a lot in Epochs that span beyond two months, because an Employee-member who runs payroll 6–7 times during an Epoch will earn more than an Employee-member who runs payroll 1 time during an Epoch.

Epoch 9 and 10 were calculated based solely on payroll run on October 15, rather than the entire span of Epoch 8.

How to get more $WORK

If you’re reading this you very likely already know the three ways to earn $WORK: run payroll, refer Employee-members, stake $WORK. If you’d like to earn more $WORK, introduce us to a friend and we’ll take it from there:

  • Send them our calendly to set up an Intro meeting and instruct them to put your name in the “who referred you” field.

We are working toward growing the cooperative, but we can’t do it alone.
