Meetup #3 is right around the corner, it’s time you get to know our speakers.
Clara Não — Illustrator and her own boss, of course
Clara Não is a published illustrator, born in the 90’s, and raised with love and Britney.
Clara lives in Porto, and has both a master in Drawing and Printing Technics and a BA in Communication Design, by the Fine Arts College in the University of Porto. She also focused her studies in Creative Writing and Illustration at Willem de Kooning Academie, in Rotterdam, on her Erasmus time.
With a playful mind and a tender heart, she constructs visual ideas through writing mostly around three major themes: daily stressful Life, Love, and Feminism.
She’s described as irreverent and ironic, but not in a harmful way, even though her work calls out for equality, socially awkward topics, and other polemic matters. The world is pretty much all her canvas at this points, considering she uses paper, fabric, glass, and even the freakin’ street to express herself!
Last June, her first book “Miga, esquece lá isso!” — translated by Clara to “Gurl, just forget it!” — was published by Ideias de Ler, and in August, a second edition was already being released, which made Clara obviously very happy!
Thanks to her personality and her cool adaptation to social media, Clara Não became more than her name, Clara Não became a brand. And she is happy about that too.
Due to the importance of writing in her work, she developed a learning method that allowed her to write with both hands. But that’s a story of its own and you can ask her directly at OPO.design #3!
With such an impressive path, we look forward to seeing Clara on our very first Group Panel, next September 26th.
