OPO.js meetup #6: Wrapping Up š
We started off the year with the right foot. Despite the rain, the first Porto JavaScript Community meetup of 2018 was amazing, and this is how it started:
Again with over 100 JavaScripters in the house š, this was our first OPO.js at PĆ³lo Zero, a bigger venue, capable of holding our growing community. Remember when I mentioned rain? Well, if it wasnāt for that, we would have had nearly 200 attendees, so we need to keep up with this growth!
As usual, our geek chatter continued at the restaurant, over a few drinks and francesinha.
The talks š£
This was a web packed meetup, although no one actually talked about webpack (pun level over 9000).
AntĆ³nio Capelo gave us āProps Per Minuteā, with a bunch of advanced patterns for React that should make our lives easier as developers, while tying it all together using audio components and audio signal as a comparison to React and props. If youāre an audio geek, this oneās not to miss.
JoĆ£o Figueiredo talked about āFramework-agnostic Web Applicationsā. An exercise in trying to develop an application uncoupled from the framework, JoĆ£o methodically goes through the motions of developing the same thing using React and Angular, and tries to find how interoperable the code is. Curious? Watch the talk.

EVERYā¦

Thatās it, folks. If youāve read this far, I will pay you a beer, reach out to me next time you see me. Note that I may require you to answer a couple of questions about the article, so study up! š
A big thanks to PĆ³lo Zero, our speakers, and everyone who helped make this awesome meetup for the Porto JavaScript Community a reality.
