Prisma Health introduces VESper™

This is a great example of building a product quickly in the heat of battle. Two physicians and a software engineer developed this simple Y connector to scale up a ventilator to support four patients. VESper got fast track approval by the FDA and the source code is available to hospitals to 3d print their own.

Share this with your healthcare colleagues and help them 3D print these if you can!

The source code is available on the Prisma Health website.

Eight VESpers can support four patients on a single ventilator.

Prisma Health tested the VESper on medical manikins to confirm its efficacy. Teams using the VESper as part of their emergency response will share their results to during their clinical trials to make sure it performs at acceptable levels for the FDA requirements.
