How do we turn climate change into a generational business opportunity for Miami? That was the first podcast we released as part of Opportunity Miami’s mission to spotlight the people and ideas shaping Miami’s economic future.
That podcast premiered in November 2021, and since then, we have released nearly two dozen more. If you aren’t subscribed already, you can:
Jacky Wright, one of the few Black female leaders at the top of the tech industry, explained how the industry could drive real inclusion and diversity, including here in Miami.
We learned how blockchain and climate tech could help tackle global warming as companies look to fiscally manage their carbon offsets through a virtual marketplace such as ClimateTrade, which moved its headquarters from Spain to Miami earlier this year.
Miami can become a leader in writing a different future for Black tech, according to Chandler Malone, CEO of Bootup, an educational labor marketplace that helps people land their first jobs in tech.
And Magic Leap CEO Peggy Johnson, another top female in tech, said that South Florida could also serve as the center for mixed reality, that is, augmented and virtual reality.

Our Opportunity Miami podcast features 30-minute conversations with thought-provoking people and their ideas on questions pivotal to Miami’s economic future. Whether on your morning commute or evening jog, our aim is to provide you with a regular dose of what’s next — or what could be next — for Miami.
Every episode centers around the future of Miami as it relates to innovation and entrepreneurship, talent and inclusion, and sustainability and resilience. These are the three pillars of Opportunity Miami, areas that we believe will drive lasting economic change in the years and decades to come.
