For most Fortnite players, the game is more than a game. It is a place to meet friends, to attend performances, to experience stories… For Epic Games, the company behind it, Fortnite is a goldmine. In short: Fortnite is scenario for the future of media. It’s time for the fortnitisation of our industry.

Although the game is for free, the experience is monetized with big succes. With a new session every few months with new dances, skins, sprays … a battle pass is the easiest way to fit in. Don’t be fooled if you’re not cool you’re out … the snob times are back with virtual sneakers and other status symbols to make you king of the playground.

Future of fortnite is becoming the social media 3.0, A virtual playground and second life that keeps kids hooked. Paradoxally really enhancing social contact through virtual play … The acquisition of houseparty is a step forward in this perspective …

Also a playground needs pocket change. How can you pay for things there. Silently the VBUCKS are invading the financial market … learning kids how to be dopamine hooked consumers like a boss. Don’t couple your family credit card to your kids gaming or epic account …

Together with new streaming & connecting platforms like twitch & discord a new virtual world called Metaverse is ising next to the older text & video based facebook or the impression image based instagram or snapchat. This one is experience based and next level in virtual interaction and storytelling together. Experiencing means making & telling the story yourself together with your friends.
