Chase Ink Cash (CIC) is the Swiss army knife of Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR) earning cards. While the only other 5x earning UR card, the Freedom, allows you to earn 5x on rotating categories, it limits your earning to 7500 UR each quarter. CIC lets you earn 5x on up to 100,000 UR/year.

CIC is extremely versatile, even though it technically earns 5x only on office supplies and shipping there are loopholes. I use it to earn 5x UR points on groceries at Whole Foods, Uber, iTunes, and AirBnB. How can one card work on such different categories? By purchasing gift cards.

Staples.com sells various gift card codes, like for Airbnb, that are delivered digitally and earn 5x with CIC.

There is also an even easier option: the Gyft app. Gyft sells gift cards and allows you to keep a digital wallet collecting all your gift cards.

You must checkout with PayPal using CIC to earn 5x UR on Gyft.

Gyft works with over 200 retailers, including Whole Foods, Uber, Best Buy, and Ebay.

If you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, the CIC earns effectively 7.5x when redeeming points in the travel portal.

Wondering if you can apply for a business card? You can and here’s how.
