“You’re not behind in life. There’s no schedule or timetable that we all must follow. It’s all made up. Wherever you are right now is exactly where you need to be. — Emily Maroutian, The Book of Relief

In a daze, I wandered about the grocery store on Monday after getting two shots at the pharmacy. Everything started to get hazy and blurred.

Looking for a place to rest, I ambled back to the chairs by the nurse’s station. Nearly making it, I ended up on the floor and a kind man came to help me up.

Luckily, I am no stranger to fainting. Being sensitive to medical situations is something I live with. However, at times I can pile on more than I can handle.

Sitting in that chair, I pulled a granola bar out of my purse and nibbled on it while having a calming conversation with the nurse. It eased my nerves and soon I felt ready to go home and rest.
