Spending time with others, communing over a meal on a sunny day, and remembering old times can heal our hearts. Yesterday, my aunt and I met for lunch after more than two years of not seeing each other.
It brought back memories of childhood, all of the cousins, aunts, and uncles sharing a picnic under the summer sun.
There is an ongoing rift in our family, and I seek to love everyone through it. Sometimes it feels like I am a person from the outside looking in at everyone’s hearts. I do not know what to do except reach out.
The original break does not come from me, yet I feel a responsibility to repair it with the glue of friendship.
We are all the same, yet we appear different.
