Who? Jaycee Horn

What? Four-star cornerback

Where? Alpharetta, GA (Alpharetta High School)

Tennessee got fantastic news on the recruiting trail on Thursday when blue-chip cornerback Jaycee Horn of Alpharetta, Georgia committed to head coach Butch Jones and the Volunteers.

Horn has been in Tennessee’s crosshairs for quite some time and the staff had to scratch and claw to garner his commitment. At one juncture, UT was eliminated and South Carolina and Alabama were Horn’s top two teams. Then, the Vols’ staff did a wonderful job getting back in the mix and ultimately getting his commitment.

Horn is an Under Armour All-American who is rated as a four-star prospect by every major recruiting service. In the 247 Sports composite, Horn is ranked as the 219th player overall and the 25th cornerback. On Rivals, he is No. 174 overall and the No. 16 cornerback. ESPN ranks him 145th overall and Scout has Horn at No. 260 overall and the No. 23 cornerback.

The 6-foot-1, 175 pound Horn is a versatile difference maker who is a lock down defender. Checking his tape, you’ll see that he has excellent ball skills and a bit of swagger to his game, as well. Not to mention, Horn possesses great length for a cornerback.

Before announcing his commitment, Horn collected over 35 official offers from schools scattered around the country and chose Tennessee over South Carolina, and Alabama. He marks the 23rd commit for the Volunteers in the class of 2018.
