Every idea starts with a problem. Balancer’s was simple. How does the Protocol decentralize influence and decision-making without sacrificing efficiency? The success of a protocol is only as strong as the entities that contribute to and support the growth and evolution. Out of this problem came the creation of Orb.

Orb is an experienced and passionate team of professionals who is dedicated to propelling Balancer’s growth. Orb’s mission is simple: to scale global utilization of the Balancer Protocol, and continue to cultivate the Balancer ecosystem for the next decade of innovation in DeFi.

Orb presents a solution for promoting the growth of Balancer Protocol through a tightly aligned mix of partnerships, marketing, integrations, design, and people operations work.

What is Orb?

In the Web3 universe, Balancer is a star, the guiding force around which all other entities in our star system revolve. Orb Collective, formerly members of Balancer Labs and Balancer DAO and fully funded by the DAO, orbits around Balancer, and that is where the inspiration for the name came from. Orb is one syllable, conjures strong mental imagery, is memorable, resonates emotionally, and contains an inherent sense of suspense and futurism.

Who is Orb?

Orb, led by Balancer Labs’ former Head of Growth, Jeremy Musighi, is made up of the former Balancer Labs marketing, integrations, business development, people operations, and UX/design teams. Orb serves Balancer Protocol and projects within the Balancer ecosystem. Balancer Labs will also still serve the Balancer ecosystem in a different capacity. As Balancer Labs continues to push innovative technology, Orb will directly support all paths needed to scale global utilization of the Balancer Protocol. As mostly former BLabs employees, the Orb team has a fine-tuned strategy needed for the Protocol’s lasting success.
