Orbit Chain Testnet 1.0 — “Avocado”
After several months of design and development, all of us at Orbit Chain are very excited to announce that Orbit Chain is rolling out the initial testnet, called Avocado. Our main network launch is still a few months away but it doesn’t mean developers have to wait to test what we are building. The Avocado testnet will allow developers to interact with the system built on Orbit Chain.
As we have mentioned many times, Orbit Chain is a multi-asset blockchain that stores, transfers, and verifies information and assets. With the Avocado testnet, developers can test and upload various Dapps that may need multi-asset functionality such as Decentralized Exchange, Decentralized Finance, and Gaming Dapp.
In today’s release, we are introducing some features to start programming and testing. The details on how to use these are documented, and here is a brief list of features available on the testnet.
Specific Features in Avocado includes:
1) Distribution of the Dapp Contract
2) Deposit and withdrawal of BTC, ETH, XRP, and ERC20 tokens through the Orbit Chain IBC technology
3) Dapp development, leveraging multi-asset
4) Inquiry and Implementation of multi-asset transactions
In order to start building your own or implementing the sample contracts, you will need to set up the development-friendly environment first. Then, follow the helpful documentation that we will share with you individually or interact directly with our developers who can help address any issues occurred during testing.

The testnet launch is the very first step in reaching our goals, and we will continue to improve the system to enhance the environment for safer and easier use. We would like to thank our community for your patience and be part of this journey with us.
Again, anyone who is interested in developing Dapps, Inter-Blockchain Communication, or DeFi can now come and try out any of the raw code. If you have inquiries or would like to know more about the Testnet End-Point, please contact us at support@orbitchain.io . We look forward to many more exciting developments with you all.
Upcoming Announcement: What comes after the testnet announcement?
