Welcoming New Orbit Bridge Validator: ICON

The Orbit Chain team is happy to welcome ICON as Validator partner for Orbit Bridge. Orbit Bridge has seen explosive growth after launching, especially with the rise of KLAYswap, a Klaytn-based AMM liquidity protocol that uses Orbit Bridge to get K-Bridge assets (e.g. kETH/ kORC/ kWBTC/ kDAI). K-Bridge assets are assets dependent on heterogenous chains that are brought to the Klaytn network and are used as Klaytn Compatible Tokens (KCT).

The addition of ICON, a strong team that has been renown and trusted as a validator, will formulate a stronger, more secure staking and validation system for Orbit Bridge and we are excited to continuously work to improve Orbit Bridge with them now by our side.

ICON, one of the largest projects in the cryptocurrency space, is a decentralized network of blockchain communities that aims to “hyperconnect the world” through interoperability. ICON’s blockchain transmission protocol creates cross-chain use cases in which heterogeneous chains with different governances connect and transact without intermediaries. ICON focuses on usability, and their tech is currently being applied in the real world in industries such as banking, securities, insurance, hospitals, and universities. ICON sets itself apart by having one of the highest confirmed transaction rates of any blockchain at 9000 TPS. ICON has support from dozens of established institutions in both the public and private sectors, including the South Korean government.

Orbit Chain and its new validator partner, ICON, are strategically planning to further evolve and expand together in business and technical areas with a global emphasis. ICON will be key partners in bringing Orbit Bridge to the blockchain world’s forefront globally with secure geographical decentralization and reliability of transactions. With its increased stability, the Orbit Chain ecosystem will grow to provide its services to a greater number of users around the world.
