Let’s do it, and we did it.

Web3, IPFS: The Future Of The Internet was the theme for 2022 Filecoin Conference,cordinated by the Orbit Community Program Lagos.

It was massive !!!

For the team, it was learning on the job couple with support from the Orbit Community Program Team Lead, Yuliia Deriuhina, Ashwanth Samuel and the Ecosystem Lead, Filecoin -IPFS Project, Colin Evran.

The generous support of the Filecoin Foundation made this maiden Filecoin Conference a reality.

Attendance

We planned for a 1000+, we got a total of 512 in-person attendees, 509+ on youtube and untracked viewers via zoom.

Breakdown:

In-person: Day 1= 87 , Day 2= 169, Day 3 =256

We had speakers virtually and in person, Stefaan took us in a deep dive on How to become a Filecoin Storage Provider, speaker Chris shared more on opportunities for Africa, some of the list of this year amazing speakers can be found right here

We got our media Brandpress covered with Tech Economy, Techpoint, Technext, Block Build Africa and many more.
We were able to launch our poap for attendees and winners of the hackathon for them to claim. Created slack, Telegram for growing the Orbit Lagos community.

We created a battle NFT character using verifiable Random Number Generator (ANG). The NFT change based on real world data using decentralized oracle. We also added the randomized NFTs to open Sea Marketplace.

Since we have Battle NFTS. created, we added a tokenURI, & view with IPFS and also use Piñata which allows us to view our IPFS files when our node is down.
