Orbs joins with design partner Endor to launch Blockchain and Crypto Systems Alliance, support new MIT research center
We’re happy to be founding partners of MIT’s Blockchain and Crypto Systems Alliance.
“How can we make this even better? How can we take this to the next level? We want to create an ecosystem of prediction,” said Endor CEO Yaniv Altshuler on stage Monday at Consensus 2018 in New York City.
“Together our founding partners, Orbs and Bancor, we are donating $15 million to MIT to start the research center focused on blockchain and cryptocurrency.”
The Blockchain and Crypto Systems Alliance will support research that will help push the capabilities of blockchain technology forward. MIT is a premier educational and research institute and the work that will be done there will no doubt be instrumental to the blockchain industry.
Other companies joining the alliance include Orbs’ design partner, Endor, Bancor, IBM, NEC, Intuit, UBS and MasterCard.
Why we‘re excited about this
“The goal is to create a neutral ground that would allow startups and ICOs to work with those tech giants in order to create the blockchain of tomorrow,” Altshuler said, describing a vision “to understand what that blockchain should look like, to create standards, and to push the forefront of human knowledge in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrency.”
