We’re really excited to announce that People Mapper by Orchestrated is now TeamForm. Why the change? Organizations are now leaner, more agile, collaborative, and focus on the importance of cross-functional teams. The new name ‘TeamForm’ reflects exactly what the platform does — empowering teams to do their best work. Schedule a friendly demo and talk about your goals and challenges — our seasoned team has a wealth of experience across all types of operating models, transformations and new ways of working.

Aside from the name change, there’ve been many changes and enhancements under TeamForm’s hood. TeamForm still solves the common challenges when scaling agility. It aligns work (‘demand’) to people (‘supply’) through an internal capability marketplace. Organizations benefit from real-time multi-dimensional visualizations of their entire workforce, cross-functional teams and organizational structure, mapped to business outcomes and cost.

That all sounds interesting, but how does it really help?

  • TeamForm overlays your ideal team structure(s) or working principles against an organization’s actual structure to set the team up for success including right-sizing, location, cross-functional and appropriately skilled, well-balanced and happy.
  • TeamForm interconnects multiple disparate data sources from ‘HR’ and ‘Work/Strategy’ to ‘see’ what is being worked on — supporting decisions to stop, start, continue or change.
  • From this, leaders and product owners can facilitate in-band or out-of-band planning (sometimes referred to as Program Increment [PI] Planning or Quarterly Business Review [QBR] against the strategic Objectives & Key Results [OKRs]). Those charged with business outcomes (e.g. product owners) can request capability (demand) from line management (e.g. Chapters, CoEs). This 2-way balancing act drives prioritization decisions as there is always more demand of work than the supply of people to fulfil.
  • TeamForm, through a view of the role requests, builds out skills and capability database (now and in future) and supports role requisition by posting of open roles, either within its own mission marketplace or with external talent management systems.
  • TeamForm has it’s own Team (aka Squad) Directory — to solve the ‘Where do I go to get something done?’ enterprise conundrum.
  • Through its team proficiency metrics, TeamForm allows organizations to measure metrics that matter, such as Change Lead Time and Cycle Time, amongst others, with a focus on flow-of-work.
  • TeamForm truly is a swiss-army knife for teams!

Solutions & Frameworks

Aligning to SAFe? Scrum@Scale? Spotify Model? TeamForm accommodates all types of ‘agile at scale’ models via predefined principle-sets (which we can customize for you). We fully recognise the need for organizations to align and customize a particular framework.

What really matters, however, is not a PowerPoint of a particular model (what you should do), but what is actually happening on the ground, in the team, the team-of-teams, and the leadership team. With TeamForm you can identify where the gaps are in teams — roles, skills and capability, key constraints (hand-offs) inhibiting flow-of-work, or where there is misalignment from strategic goals.

We also excited to announce alignment with:

  • Team Topologies: Organizing business and technology teams for fast flow by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais. A highly rated and critically acclaimed book, the methods of which many companies are using to reorganise for modern product delivery, and
  • Remote Agility Framework: “the world’s first framework for remote working, helping organizations purposefully design their ways of working to suit both fully remote and distributed or hybrid models”. A whole-of-company operating model that presents the right data to all levels of an organization, including virtual Obeya’s for the leadership team, team-of-teams and teams.

The world has changed and the data is clear:
it belongs to agile organizations.

In September we asked you to be part of the Business Agility Institutes (BAI) annual survey report for 2020. Thank you if you did! The BAI does some great work promoting this newer way of working that has taken the world’s organizations by storm.

With a preface from Steve Denning, the 3rd annual Business Agility Report is now released, derived from 3 years of global survey data. Please download your complimentary copy of the report here.

Last year, it opened with the words “the world is changing faster than ever”. In 2020, these words do not seem enough. The world has changed, and the data is clear: it belongs to agile organizations.

In the report you’ll discover:

  • What benefits and challenges organizations have faced into
  • How has COVID-19 affected organizational agility
  • What progress organizations on a business agility journey have made, and
  • The regions and industries who have seen the most success

2019’s key insight was the emergence of 3 key predictors of business agility, namely Funding Model (align outcomes with adaptive funding), Value Stream (maximise value creation with cross-functional teams who understand the end-to-end flow of work) and Relentless Improvement (embed a culture of learning, experimentation and empowerment).

With that, we’d like to wish everyone a safe season break.

The team behind TeamForm.
