Saturday Morning NeuroSim Discussion Thread: topics in Extended Reality
Over the past three years, the Saturday Morning NeuroSim group has met weekly on Saturdays (mornings in North America). The Saturday Morning format continues in the tradition of Saturday Morning Physics and covers a wide variety of topics.
As an extension of some of our open-source discussions, Bradly Alicea discussed some readings on event cameras and revitalizing dead Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOs) as part of the April 22 meeting. Since one of our funded Google Summer of Code projects for Summer 2023 involves XR for Research, there was a serial feature in the Saturday Morning NeuroSim meetings on topics in XR.
- VR interface design (hinged buttons) (May 6)
- Data Fusion for multisensory interactions and touch (May 13)
- Portals in AR (May 20)
- Volograms and Digital Twins (May 27)
- Metaverse Standards (June 3)
- Spatial Computing (June 10)

Additionally, the Orthogonal Research and Education Lab YouTube channel also now has a new playlist: Metaverse and Spatial Computing for Research. These are demos and other content related to the Metaverse (VR) and Spatial Computing (AR).
