What does it mean to be a part of a community? Communities form around anything that people become like-minded about, and we participate in many such groups every day. Organic Community Market is building something that provides an essential service, and we want to partner with other people who share this vision, so we’re doing something unique with our membership program. We’re so sure consumers will love this system that our memberships don’t have an expiry date. Buy it once, use it for life. We’re so sure you’ll love it that we’re also making our memberships transferable. If you don’t want it anymore, give it away to someone else. We can do this because our memberships are based on a token system, which uses the power of the EOS Public Blockchain. When new members sign up, they are given membership tokens, which they own and can do with as they please. On top of that, when members purchase product, they earn even more OCM tokens. As our system grows, tokens will take on other uses, and we will be encouraging members to become more and more involved in the growth of our platform.
Producer Partners
Organic producers are focused on making the best quality product possible, but today’s economy makes it difficult for them to maintain their independence. Unless they are doing their own sales, they have to immediately sell to a distributor or cut a deal with a big retailer. Organic Community Market wants to take the place of the middlemen for organic producers. We are inviting all producers — whatever the size or geographic reach — to partner with us and offer their inventory on our platform. This gives producers the flexibility to make their own decisions about how their product will be sold. It gives them a direct line to their customers’ feedback, and it ensures that they don’t have to sign their business away to a gigantic corporation just to get market exposure. Producers who partner with OCM will have a huge potential market, and they will be able to customize their reach: from international shipping to local pickup.
Our Roadmap
OCM’s planned roadmap is ambitious yet achievable. Our membership program and webstore are deployed, and the OCM token will be launched in just a few days from now. Over the coming months we will introduce several more producers — and their products — to our platform. As we onboard members and producers, we will be implementing tools to foster communication between them, utilizing the immense potential of the EOS blockchain. Ultimately, we envision having the ability to use one database for all operations — membership, ordering & e-commerce, tracking, customer feedback, community building, even end-to-end supply chain management.
