Organization is something that many people can have naturally, but with others, they may have to work on it like any other skill. Personally, I am one of the people that is going to have to work on it and my trials and research on organization can be followed along on this blog. The ability to be organized can be helpful in many different way because knowing where papers or other important objects are can make the process much easier. At the workplace, knowing where the income papers are when the boss asks for them gives you a slight edge over someone that may not be as organized. Some of the ideas that will be looked at are; how long it takes to ingrain the habit of organization, does the skill rub off on people you closely interact with, and does the way you organize change the effectiveness? The goal at the end of this blog cycle is to understand and utilize the research to help myself and whomever is reading this to become a more organized person. How will this be done might you ask? Keeping track of the organization practices, like how many times and how often, will be the main way, but also the following 6 posts will keep you updated on my progress as well as the research being done. In my belief, I think that once you concur the big organizational issues, which possibly could be scheduling or your living arrangements, the little things will follow, like with drawers or your work desk. This plays along the idea of “eating the frog” brought about by Mark Twain, except we won’t we eating a frog each morning. Getting the project that is the most difficult out of your way first makes the other projects that much easier to complete because nothing will be as stressful. Organization can seem like a daunting task because you are moving all of the thing that have been in that place for who knows how long into an order that is easier to understand not only for you, but other people that may interact with it. Organizing can also be a stress reliever as once you see all of your stuff in an aesthetically pleasing arrangement, it’s a very relaxing sight and makes you want to do it more often.
