Week-7 Culture and motivation
I was a part of an organization called TEDxIIT which is a part of TED talks. The pictures below can say a lot about the main points which are metaphor, rituals and hero heroines. In first picture all hero heroines are part of organization and we had a CEO who is head and founder of TEDxIIT. Also as seen in picture some people are raising their hands. It is ritual in organization where any idea got selected by getting votes from members present in organization. In the second picture we all members try to be creative with the things we get and make some weird things out of it. It was kind of fun and new experience which makes meeting interactive and efficient.
Shooting employees with motivation
Leaders can inspire and motivate a positive work environment by encouraging their employees for their hard work. Taking out some time and spending time doing fun activities like games, movies or lunch. It will make employees feel to be more connected to their leaders and it will make their bond strong. Also they will treat each other with respect and eventually one can see that result on the environment. According to me an instructor can help students or motivate them by telling them that how the course will help you in future rather than just focusing on grade. Because lot of students take a course and because of improper instructions or teaching from instructor they just focus on grades and leave the main focus of studying the subject. For the last answer I like to say that this class is really what every student wish to learn because it is not just read the book and write the blog, but you as an instructor provides us with various resources like short clips, movies that is compared to the course and it makes class really effective in learning. I want to share a short video which share its idea about motivation, I really like his idea and its truth.
According to book culture is defined by set of elements which is followed by people to do activities daily in their work place. It is compared to religion which is a combination of various rituals and activities perform by people from different sects. According to culture is more like habits which people tends to follow and sometimes try to alter them according to their will. We have heard about various cultures which includes countries, companies and religions. It is also about behavior of people adapted by them. For example if children and parents living separately after their children got married, it is considered against the culture because according to the so called Indian culture, one should take care of their parents and help them in their old age. While here in western culture all have independent life and parents don’t want to rely on their children after they grow old, so they chose to live by themselves and live in their own way. I guess this is a great example of culture that is followed in different countries in different ways.
